Trends come & go, but these days I get excited about certain ones that I have had my eye on for quite some time. Yes, as a planner it gets very hard not to get too wrapped up in the “hottest trends” via TikTok or Pinterest, yet there are a few that I think still have that timeless touch that could never go out of style. So read the below for my top 5 most anticipated trends of 2023:

Give Us ALLLL the Color!

Color is back baby and it is here to stay! While minimalism and neutrals will always have my heart, I love that couples are starting to embrace color again- and getting creative with it too. Whether couples are choosing bold, maximalist statements or are still keeping it simple, color is the best way to truly enhance décor and the overall look of a wedding day.

More Unique Guest Experiences

Personalized drinks as they enter the cocktail hour? A bounce house for guests to play on all night? Feeding the horses living at the venue? A hand written note to each guest at each table? A cigar roller? These are just a few of the fun experiences that LZ Event Co has done / will be doing with our couples! By putting the guest experience first, it shows that couples care about their loved ones and want to ensure they all enjoy their time!

Creating Time For Private Moments

Weddings are a day to celebrate with your special person the day you come together. So why have we normalized making half the day one you spend apart? I think in 2023 couples should- and will- find more times to have private moments to truly take in the day. Some of my favorite ways to do this are:

• A morning hug before you get ready
• A first touch
• Sneak away during cocktail hour to enjoy a meal or snack together
• 10 minutes post ceremony with no wedding party, photographer or anyone else. Just you two to celebrate.
• Practice your first dance before walking down the aisle (if you did a first look!)
• Take a lil sunset walk before returning to guests

Capturing The Candid

It is out with the posed and in with the natural! Let’s face it, the trend of photography moving more photo-journalism rather than your awkward group poses is really making a statement. And I am alllllll for it. Photo-journalism, or candid style photography, is the best way to truly capture how your wedding day really felt. I mean, look at Vogue if you want to see these style photos in the best way possible. Yes, poses are still fun (and sometimes necessary) but in my personal opinion, candid moments really is what will last a lifetime.

Remembering You Can Do Whatever The Heck You Want!

As I stated at the beginning, that trends come and go. That being said, it is YOUR DAY! So if you want to do something that is “cheguy” according to TikTok (what does that word even mean?!) then do it! Weddings should be a day that captures you and your partner, so whatever you want to do to embrace that, I am all ears. Like sharing your own Imos Pizza during photos? Count me in!
